MOTOR

If you are involved in an accident, please take the following steps:

  1. Take Note of :
    • the registration number(s) of the other vehicle(s)
    • the name(s) and contact number(s) of the other driver(s)
    • date, time and location of accident
    • the name(s) and contact number(s) of witness(es), if any
    • the damages caused to the other vehicle(s)
    • the damages caused to your own vehicle
    • injuries, if any, caused to person(s) involved in the accident
  2. If you have a camera/mobile, take photographs of the positions of the vehicles after the accident, the accident site and the damages caused to vehicles involved in the accident.

REPORTING

Our 24 hour 7 day a week Hotline is 68448877. Alternatively you can also contact any one of our approved workshops or any of the Idac Centres.

Please take note that in the event of any accident, irrespective of whether it would give rise to a claim, the Insured shall, together with the accident Motor Vehicle, call at the Company's Approved Workshops/ Reporting Centres to report the accident within 24 hours of the accident or by the next working day (if the accident occurred during the weekend or on a Public Holiday)

You can report the accident at:

  1. Any one (1) of our Panel of Approved Workshops
  2. Any one (1) of Idac Centres
  3. Selected Authorised Dealers

Kindly note that failure to comply with this condition may result in your losing all or part of your No Claims Discount (NCD) and/or a denial of your claim in respect of that particular occurrence. For information to the Motor Claims Framework, please refer to GIA web site

As a token of our gratitude in respect of action taken in (2) above, we will be presenting to you a S$10/- Fairprice voucher. These photogrpaphs should (to our discretion) be useful to our case and be submitted to us within five (5) days from the date of the accident. These photographs should be MMS to 97112758.

For free 24- hour towing service for accident-related breakdowns assistance at the accident site call one of our panel of approved workshops.

REPORTING AN ACCIDENT IN MALAYSIA

If you are involved in an accident in Malaysia, you are required to make a report at a police station in Malaysia.

After you have returned to Singapore, you are also required to e-file your report, procedure as described above.

If your vehicle has been disabled and you need a tow truck to bring it back to Singapore, please contact one of our Approved Workshops for assistance.

Under Claim Report/ Customer Service is a PANEL WORKSHOP LOCATOR which provides names and contacts of all workshops in the states of Malaysia.

Other than the reporting fee (currently S$30), we will not pay for other Idac services (e.g. damage assessment report) under your policy.

For filing a report, please also remember to bring along your motor certificate of insurance, driving licence, identity card and company stamp (if   the vehicle is registered under the name of a company).

YOUR CLAIM DECISION

  1. Instruct our approved workshop on whether you are claiming from your own policy and the name(s) of the insurance company of the other vehicle(s), if within your knowledge.
  2. If you are claiming your own policy, we shall send a surveyor to view your vehicle once we receive the report form and estimated cost of repair.

REPORTING TO THE POLICE

You are required to also report to the police for the following cases:-

  • if injury is sustained
    • where the injured was conveyed to hospital by an ambulance, or
    • where the injured was conveyed to hospital by any other kind of vehicle and he was hospitalised or given outpatient medical leave for three (3) days or more, or
    • where the motorist did not go to hospital but was subsequently discovered with injuries arising from the accident and was hospitalised or given medical leave for three (3) days or more
  • where a government vehicle or property is involved
  • where a foreign registered vehicle is involved
  • where a cyclist or pedestrian is involved

CORRESPONDENCE FROM THIRD PARTIES

If you receive any composition fine or other documents from the traffic police, refer them to us before you take any action. Any other documents from other parties should also be referred to us for our perusal and direction. The original copy of any Writ of Summons received should be forwarded to us immediately for our attention.
