To enable claims to be dealt with expeditiously, when loss/damage is noted at the Port and/or before delivery into final Warehouse, claimants are advised to follow closely the following procedures:

1. Take steps to minimise the loss or damage. In no circumstances, except under protest, to give clean receipt where goods are in doubtful condition.

2. If the loss is in Singapore, the claimant is to notify Tokio Marine Insurance Singapore Ltd. and Carriers immediately for joint survey before taking delivery. If the loss is overseas, the claimant is to notify the Survey Agents mentioned in the policy and Carriers immediately for joint survey before taking delivery.

3. Claim immediately on the Carriers and Port Authorities for damages and/or any missing Packages under advice to insurance company.

4. When delivery is made in container and the seal is tampered with, to retain all defective & irregular seals for identification during survey by insurance company.

5. In the event that the cargo is missing, the claimant has to obtain a letter from the Carriers or Port Authorities to confirm that the cargo is shortlanded.
